Celebrating the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Dear Parishioners,

Our parish celebrated the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with the following services and activities.

Monday, 6 January 2025
9:00 – 10:00 AM: Royal Hours

This service derives its name from its historical association with the presence of the Emperor and his court at Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. Due to the Emperor’s attendance, a special rendition of “Many Years” was performed in his honour, as well as for the Imperial Court and the Hierarchy. This tradition continues today in cathedrals and monasteries, albeit in a modified form. The Emperor demonstrated his submission to Christ, the true King, by his presence at the service. The Royal Hours are celebrated only three times a year: on the Eve of the Nativity, the Eve of Theophany, and Great Friday.

Sunday, 12 January 2025

12:00 – 1:00 PM: Children’s Yolka

This year’s Children’s Yolka Celebration was held on Sunday, 12 January, immediately following Divine Liturgy. The event was a festive occasion for adults and children, and our parish brotherhood provided lunches for everyone.

As in previous years, Grandfather Frost joined us after the concert to share his greetings and distribute gifts to the children, organized by our parish sisterhood.

Thank you for your support organizing this event and participation!
